Space 134 - 2016 Vision Plan & Next Steps

02/11/16 Update: This Meeting was postponed to March 22, 2016

The 2016 Space 134 Vision Plan Update, which is scheduled to be brought up at the February 23, 2016 City Council Meeting, is the result of a series of plans, analyses and public forums which have shaped a more refined look into what a cap park would look like over the 134 freeway in Glendale.

The Vision Plan
The updated vision plan which would reestablish a connection between the residential neighborhoods north of the freeway and the downtown core through a cap park is described in the revised plan as being comprised of two parts, the Heart (Downtown Park) and the Soul (Neighborhood Park). The following resources were used to help form the latest version of the plan:
This plan will continue to evolve as the project undergoes more specialized technical studies, as further public input is received and as important questions are addressed relating to engineering, air quality, traffic and noise impacts among other things.

Next Steps
During the February 23 presentation, the City Council will be asked to authorize the next phase of the project which would consist of a technical feasibility study.  The study would address key elements including: design alternatives, traffic, noise and air quality, parking, a cost benefit analysis and more.
